Temporary Child Care Monitor

Temporary Part-Time Assignment Must be able to pass background and drug screen. Must have dependable transportation along with the ability to work flexible hours. Must have understanding of how chemical dependency affects parenting responsibilities. CREDENTIALS AND ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS Must have a High School Diploma or GED.



1.       Interviews each client and completes paper work that will list information regarding each

          of their children.

2.       This information will be used to determine what support services and referrals will assist

          them in improving the quality of life for their child(ren) and may include, but are not

          limited to:

          (a)    Assisting with Daycare arrangements either in or out of the home and may include

                 assistance with enrollment to Head Start.

          (b)   Identifying the need for immunization and referral.

          (c)    Referral for clothing or other basic need items.


3.       Keep a log of all consumers accessing the child monitoring service and record the service

          he/she is reporting for (i.e., individual or group counseling, medication, to submit

          urinalysis, or case management services).

4.       Assist parents with the monitoring of their children while attending treatment services.

5.       Provide special activities that are age appropriate for the children to participate in.

6.       Collects information on recreational activities in the community, based on age

          appropriateness.  Mothers will be made aware of the activities and encouraged to have

          their children participate.

7.       Will be responsible for keeping and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for the children. This includes ensuring that the child monitoring room, toys, seats, and equipment are kept clean, sanitized, and free of debris throughout the day. In addition the Child Service Monitor will also make sure the room is disinfected at the end of each shift.

8.       Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
